LAUNCH is the graduation festival of AKV|St. Joost in Breda en ’s-Hertogenbosch (The Netherlands). New talents present their graduation works from July 1–5 2017.

Future flows and the unique paths towards them

AKV|St.Joost approached us with the question of developing the identity and campaign for LAUNCH 2017; A campaign that reflects the diversity of students and speaks to the imagination. After all, the final exam is not a destination, it's the start of a career where everything is possible ...

Together with photographers Daan Paans & Thomas Kuijpers and the communication department of AKV|St. Joost we decided to make a dynamic identity and campaign. This dynamic approach enabled us to show the many different design-practices of the graduation exhibition as well as the individual character of each student.

This approach is directly visible in both the design and the photography: For the posters and digital banners, Daan and Thomas photographed a series of 3 photos of 10 students.

The dynamic typographic style is applied everywhere throughout this campaign and in the exhibition: on digital banners, posters, advertisements and on te signage during the exhibition. This creates a vibrant, characteristic and recognisable unity while every expression for this this campaign is unique in its own right.

Share your invitation with friends

Every year a big group of people receives an official invitation for the graduation exhibitions. This year we wanted to extend this group even further by making it possible to send a part of this invitation to other people. By tearing a postcard from your invitation and sending it to a friend by mail more people could be reached – because receiving an invitation by post is always more impressive than a digital one, right!?
And of course the postcards contained different posters as well…

Nominees, winners and awards

Every year students can get a nomination to win one out of 3 different graduation prizes. In order to show which students and works were nominated, we’ve designed small signs to be combined with the project description. Different colours show the different awards. The winners also got a one-of-a-kind LAUNCH 2017 award.
